I’ve been a long-time fanboy of flybear, having previously covered his track “The Hook” when I first started up this blog. I keep going back to his Soundcloud waiting for new uploads, but it’s been quiet for just about a year. I’m really hoping it’s because he’s putting together an epic EP. Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
While I wait, I continue returning to his old music. Another one of his tracks that really resonates with me is his most recent release, “Hollowed”. It’s a truly beautiful track, with hints of melancholy, yet also inspiring and uplifting at the same time (it’s hard to explain, so just listen and you’ll see what I mean). From start to finish, this song really keeps you reeled in with its energetic opening, sublime vocal melodies, wonderfully satisfying guitar solo, and the unexpected (but totally welcome) outro.
For those of you that are fans of Mura Masa, I urge you to check out this and all the other tracks by Flybear; you won’t be disappointed.
