Pastel - Melt

Some more fire from French producer Pastel. Everything about this is so on point, from the crisp percussion to the funky guitar riffs and subtle vocal chops.

Pastel has been on a roll with frequent releases, including both originals like “Melt” and remixes of popular tracks like Childish Gambino’s “This is America”. Let’s hope he keeps this momentum going ‘cause I’m hooked on his sound and need more.

Robotaki Releases Long-Awaited Science EP

You may know Robotaki from his releases through Manila Killa and AObeats’ label and collective, Moving Castle or through his hit, “Ghostboy”. He’s been continuing to craft his signature sound and is really redefining modern funk music.

I love the blending of old and new sounds, maintaining the grooves and vibes of old school funk, while introducing something fresh through the use of the future bass-esque synths and modern production techniques.

Although it’s a tough choice, I have to say my current favorite off the new EP is actually the one that has gotten the least love. Don’t miss the final track, “Satisfied”, which features some amazing vocal work from City Fidelia. I was definitely satisfied from that one.

The EP also features other great collaborations with artists Jamie Fine, falcxne, Nevve, and SHOR, so be sure to check them out as well!

Premiere: Saë Brings Back the Funk with Latest Release “Mr. Kool”

Prepare yourself to get deep in the groove with Saë’s latest release, “Mr. Kool”. He really lets go and shreds it on the bass, guitar, and synths. You can really experience his talents as a multi-instrumentalist and producer in this track.

Saë is an emerging artist from Paris, delving into the universe of electronic music, deftly mixed with the groove of the late 70's.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Saë's genre has been described as “neo-vintage electrofunk”. With influences ranging from Prince or Stevie Wonder to Daft Punk and Justice, he continues to forge his own signature style. I for one am extremely excited to see what he has in store for us in the near future.
